After having spent over 20 years playing with a number of different clubs, at the age of 42 Cuauhtemoc Blanco has finally halted his playing career and has called it a day.
The experienced forward still performs in a few matches for his current club Puebla F.C but it’s only on specific games as the player is reaching the last few weeks and days of his career which has seen the Mexican forward making over 400 appearances and perform in a number of clubs including: America, Necaxa, Chicago Fire, Veracruz and many others.
Cuauhtemoc Blanco is considered to be one of the best players in his position in the history of Mexican soccer with a number of different individual awards being given to the player for all of the contributions that he has made not only for his club but also for his country, Mexico.
When football players decide to retire, turning into a manager is something that more and more experienced performers choose to do. Just take a look at Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs as the former midfielder is now the assistant of Louis van Gaal. Ac.Milan’sFilippoInzaghi is another example of this phenomenon that has been increasing rapidly in the past few years.
Cuauhtemoc Blanco on the other hand has decided to make a move into politics as the Mexican player confirmed his intention to turn into the Mayor of the city of Cuernavaca.
Cuernavaca is the largest city and capital of the Mexican state of Morelos and it has also been the home of Cuauhtemoc for the past 10 years.
The Mayoral elections will take place on June 7 of the current year and Cuauhtemoc Blanco is eager for that day to arrive as the Mexican player has already stated that he wants to help out the people that live in Cuernavaca as he knows some of the things that needs to improve in that city after having lived there for a significantly long amount of time.
