Jurgen Klopp updates on club’s transfer plans for the summer

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reiterated that the club may not make much movement during the summer transfer window. The Reds ended the previous season on a high with Champions League success and it appears that Klopp is content with the current setup of the squad without the need for additions.
Speaking to reporters, Klopp said that the club can consider Rhian Brewster and Oxlade-Chamberlain as new signings for the summer, given they were injured for most of the previous season. He added that the fans should not expect a big transfer window following the £170m spent on new arrivals 12 months ago.
“We have brought them already and you don't realise it. Rhian Brewster, Oxlade-Chamberlain didn't play last year, all the young boys didn't play for us last year, they are all new players for us. The transfer market is open. We will see what we do, but I don't think it will be the biggest transfer window of all time.” he told.
The Reds currently have a fixed set of players to make the starting lineup while they have an equally impressive bench with the likes of Divock Origi, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Joe Gomez present. Nonetheless, there have been calls for the club to spend on new players this summer, considering Manchester City have shown the intent with the club-record purchase of Rodri.
The Citizens had a tough Premier League campaign last term where they beat the Reds to the title by a single point, and manager Pep Guardiola appears keen on avoiding a repeat of the same. The midfield has been bolstered with the signature of Rodri and the focus could now lie on strengthening the heart of the defence. The Mancunian giants saw the departure of Vincent Kompany after the expiry of his contract last month and the club are likely to pursue a top-class replacement during the remaining weeks of the transfer window.
